Interactive Nutrition has recently added an Ottawa based "Kayaking" athlete, John Robert Hastings as one of its sponsored athletes.
At the young age of 16, John knew that his ultimate dream in life would be to compete for Canada at the Olympic Games, which he is now going to in 2008 at Beijing. To achieve this goal, John has made many sacrifices, which includes relocating to Ottawa from his hometown of Aurora at the young age of 17.
He is being coached by National Team Coach, Michal Staniszewski, 6-time world champion and Silver medalist at the 2000 Olympic Games.
John is currently ranked 2nd in Canada and 22nd in the World. With less than two-years to go before Beijing, John realizes that there is still more work to do and gains to make. To go to the Olympics, John will need to jump up one more position on the ladder, and be ranked number one.
