June 29, 2004 -- As a leader in sports nutrition and fitness supplementation, InterACTIVE Nutrition International Inc.® is proud to have been a part of the Canadian Cancer Society's 6th annual Relay for Life that raised a record $691,000 for cancer research. InterACTIVE Nutrition provided energy bars to help fuel the participants during the 12-hour, overnight event in Ottawa.
From 8 p.m., Saturday, June 12 to 8 a.m. the next day, 182 teams of 10 to 15 participants took turns walking and running laps at the Nepean Sportsplex. Many of the participants had been directly affected by cancer. The record $691,000 easily surpassed last year's total of $560,000.
InterACTIVE Nutrition also sponsored the 12-member Scott Rankin Gardiner LLP team, who went by the name SRG Turtles and Hares. They raised an impressive $8000, based on pledges and the number of laps the team completed around the track.
