London's Frontline Emergencey Personnel Featured on Rogers Television's New Fitness Series, Interactive Fitness 911

Dec 29, 2004 — [Monday, December 20 2004 - LONDON, STRATHROY, ST. THOMAS, TILLSONBURG, WOODSTOCK] London's firefighters, police, nurses and paramedics... their profession is fast-paced, sometimes dangerous and always challenging! Now 10 of the finest emergency frontline personnel including representatives from London Health Sciences Centre, London Police Service, Thames EMS and the London and St. Thomas Fire Departments undertake a challenging fitness makeover on Rogers Television, Cable 13's new 10-part series Interactive Fitness 911. The series premieres Tuesday, January 4th @ 2:00 PM only on Rogers Television. It will also airs across the province on the Rogers Television Network.

TThe series follows the same format as the station's award-winning and viewer favorite series, The PVL Finally Fit Challenge. With the help of Interactive Nutrition and The Athletic Club the participants tests their resolve to lose weight or increase muscle mass while undertaking a rigorous 12-week fitness program.

Shot on location at the Athletic Clubs of London, the 10 participants were selected in August following a round of auditions conducted by Rogers Television. The Athletic Club's Personal Training Director Meagan White, Personal Trainer Ryan Flesch, Nutritionist Rita Oliveira and from Interactive Nutrition, Nelson Narcisso work directly with each participant to help them get the results they're seeking.

Local paramedic, Patty set a goal to "improve my eating habits and lose weight" while Marni an E.R. Nurse echoed similar motivations, "I wanted to take care of myself, get out of the slump I was in and lose weight."

Chris, a paramedic was encouraged to audition for the show by his wife and co-workers. He says he wants abs. He's always been interested in fitness and nutrition and found there were a lot of mixed messages. "Being a part of Interactive Fitness 911, he says, "was a source of excellent information and gave me a structured fitness program to help me reach my goal!"
