SoyOne Makes Appearance in Local Newspaper

June 20, 2005 — "Shakes oh soy good" an article written in the June 18th edition of the Ottawa Sun, featured InterACTIVE Nutrition's SoyOne™ product line. The article written by Charnicia E. Huggins described the benefits of using a soy based shake. Among the benefits were weight-loss, lower cholesterol and triglyceride levels.

Dr. James W. Anderson of the University of Kentucky did a 12 week study on the effects of soy based, and milk based meal replacement shakes. Both groups managed to lose weight, however men and women who used the soy-based meal replacement consistently had much lower cholesterol and LDL levels.

The study shows, for people trying to lose weight, soy-based liquid meal replacements may be just as effective as intensive behavioral therapy and two times more effective than weight-loss medications. "The bottom line is soy is healthy, and while incorporating it into weight loss may not have a more dramatic effect on your waistline than other nutritional plans, its benefits go beyond weight loss toward increasing overall health," states Dr. Anderson.
